Choquequirao Trek (4 Days)

Itinerary

• Option 1:
• 4:30 am departure from Cusco to Cachora (4 hours by car)
• Enjoy a local breakfast before beginning your 4 hour trek
• Marvel at one of the deepest valleys in Peru, as you ascend to the cloud forest
• Enjoy locally cooked food and a comfortable night in a lodge
• Day 2 begins with coffee, coca leaves, and a hearty breakfast
• Trek for 3.5-4 hours, and after a lunch break, we will continue for another 2.5 hours to our lodge
• Take a much needed break at the lodge, and after dinner you will have time to stargaze
• After breakfast on Day 3 we will hike for 2 hours to the entrance of Choquequirao
• Your guide will give you a tour of the site, which is twice as large as Macchu Picchu, and recount the history of this site known as the Cradle of Gold
• After exploring Choquequirao, you will head back towards the lodge for lunch, and continue with your descent
• Day 4 will be our final day, descending back down to the highlands
• Option 2:
• Early departure from Quillabamba to Yanama (3 hours by car)
• Enjoy a local breakfast in Yanama before beginning your 4 hour trek
• Your guide and porters will setup camp for you and prepare a lunch at the campsite
• On day 2, you will get an early start and continue hiking 2 hours to Choquequirao
